Arthur
I. Meyer Jewish Academy
What
truly sets the Arthur I. Meyer Jewish Academy apart
is our desire to inspire academic excellence in every
student. We strive to provide a learning experience
that develops the whole child, helping them grow
intellectually, emotionally, physically and spiritually
through an integrated dual curriculum educational
framework. The Meyer Jewish Academy also provides
a warm and positive learning environment through
small class size and individual attention. There
is no finer academic institution to help children
develop into stronger, more confident young adults.
At the Meyer Jewish Academy, there is one other element
that makes us unique in the academic community, tradition.
We are dedicated to providing each of our students
with not only the finest general education but also
an extensive Jewish education that will empower them
to become creative and productive members of American
society and of the Jewish community.

U.B.
Kinsey/Palmview Elementary School of the Arts
U.B.
Kinsey/Palmview Elementary School of the Arts is
a visual, performing, and communication arts magnet
public school. We promote excellence through the
arts to prepare all students to become productive
citizens and life long learners in a diverse and
dynamic world. We believe that children should become
productive citizens in a multicultural world by enriching
academic and personal development through the Arts.
The vast majority of students enrolled at UBK live
within the school attendance boundary located near
the school. The remainder of the students submit
an application to the magnet program and are chosen
by a computer lottery system. U.B. Kinsey began as
Industrial High School, became a middle school, and
is currently an elementary school. In 1994 it became
an Arts Magnet school and was named after its long
time beloved principal, U.B. Kinsey.
Every
child is given the opportunity to experience all the
art areas offered at UBK. Those areas include Computer
Graphics, Dance, Drama, Music, Physical Education,
Spanish, T.V. Production and Visual Arts. Students
in grades 3 through 5 are given the opportunity to
choose one or two art areas in which they feel the
most comfortable and have demonstrated the most talent.
These "Studio" classes meet at the end of
the school day, and occur twice a week for 60 minutes
each. Studio areas include Academic Computer Activities,
Band, Chorus, Communication Arts, Computer Graphics,
Dance, Physical Education, Spanish, String Orchestra,
Theater and Visual Arts.
