Michelle
J. Bamdas was born in Queens, New York in 1967. After graduating
from Jericho High School in 1985, Michelle attended the State
University of New York at Albany, graduating in 1989 with
a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. Michelle
then attended the University of Miami School of Law, earning
her Juris Doctorate in 1992. Michelle served as Vice-President
of the Society of Bar & Gavel for two years. While attending
law school, Michelle interned under Janet Reno at the Dade
County State Attorney's Office, handling numerous jury trials.
After
graduating law school, Michelle worked as an associate at
the insurance defense firm of Powers & McNalis in Lake
Worth, handling numerous claims filed following Hurricane
Andrew. In 1994, Michelle joined the Broward County State
Attorney's Office, where she served as an Assistant State
Attorney for five years, acquiring extensive trial experience
as she handled more than 200 trials in her tenure. Michelle
served as the Gang Prosecutor in the juvenile division, as
well as a lead attorney in the felony division, handling
murder trials, sexual assault trials, drug trafficking, robberies,
burglaries, and related matters.
Since leaving the State Attorney's Office, Michelle has engaged
in general practice, including personal injury and wills and
probate, while remaining extremely active in the schools of
both of her children. Michelle has served on the Ruth and Edward
Taubman Early Childhood Center PTO Board, chaired several PTO
events, and has served on the Early Childhood Committee since
2002. Michelle has recently been appointed as Chairperson of
the Early Childhood Committee and as a Board of Trustee Member
for B'nai Torah Congregation. Additionally, Michelle serves
as a Vice-President of the PTA for Del Prado Elementary school.
