Paul Jacobs has been handling personal injury cases for almost 30 years and has practiced law in the Boca Raton area since 1991. Paul was born and raised in New York, and he graduated from Ramapo High School in Spring Valley and attended State University of New York at Binghamton, where he majored in Political Science and graduated in 1977. After a brief time in sales, Paul moved from Manhattan to attend University of Miami School of Law. While in law school, Paul served as both a law clerk and bailiff in the 11th Judicial Circuit of Miami-Dade County for Judge Francis X. Knuck. He received his Juris Doctor in 1985.
After graduation, Paul worked as an associate attorney handling plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice cases, and thereafter he joined Marks, Aronovitz & Leinoff, P.A. in 1986 and expanded his practice to include commercial litigation and matrimonial law as the firm became known as Aronovitz & Jacobs, P.A. Paul founded Jacobs & Straus, P.A. in 1991 with his wife, Geri Sue Straus (1960-2013), also a University of Miami School of Law graduate. Paul and Susie handled and tried a large number of personal injury cases over the years including automobile injury, motorcycle accidents, ATV accidents, wrongful/accidental deaths, and insurance bad faith. Jacobs & Straus gave each and every client that walked through its doors the legal expertise and personal attention necessary to achieve the best outcome.
Paul is a former Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator. He brings his vast experience to Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith. He works primarily out of the Firm’s Boca Raton office. As a long time Boca Raton resident, Paul spent many years active in coaching Boca youth league sports. He served for 25 years as the President of the Boca Tierra Homeowners Association. He has been a long time member of Temple Beth El in Boca Raton. Paul serves on the board of the Levis Jewish Community Center and is a supporter of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. He also continues the Firm’s strong support for the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce.
