Speaker 1: Assisted living facilities, or ALFs, are governed by chapter 429 of Florida statutes. This statute sets forth the rights of those that reside in ALFs. To the extent those rights are violated, the resident may be able to bring a claim for a violation of those rights. The damages would include, pain and suffering, mental anguish, and other types of compensatory damages, as well as, any associated economic losses, such as medical expenses.
