Danielle A. Sherriff

Danielle A. SherriffDanielle A. Sherriff was born in Queens, New York and moved to South Florida where she attended high school and college. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science from Florida International University. Danielle went on to study law at Florida State University College of Law and obtained her Juris Doctor in 2008. While in law school, Danielle was active in the Black Law Students Association and the Dispute Resolution Competition Team. She also interned for the State Attorney’s Office in Leon and Broward Counties.

Prior to joining Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith, Danielle was an Assistant State Attorney and Chief of the Traffic Homicide Unit of the State Attorney’s Office for Palm Beach County. She brings more than a decade of experience both as an attorney and as a supervisor of a team responsible for the prosecution of crimes involving Traffic Homicides such as DUI Manslaughter, Vehicular Homicide, and Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Death in addition to other criminal traffic offenses. Prior to that role, she prosecuted felony cases at all levels including burglaries, robberies, sexual batteries, and homicides. Danielle has vast trial experience, having tried over 100 jury and non-jury trials, most of which were felonies.

Danielle has a strong commitment to the legal community and community at large. She is the current President of the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers (PBC FAWL) and the Immediate Past-President of the F. Malcolm Cunningham, Sr. Bar Association. She is also an active member of several committees within the Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Florida Bar.

Danielle is a mentor for both high school and law school students. She regularly speaks at local schools in her efforts to help educate students about the law, ethics, and civics. She also sits on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Foundation of Florida which is dedicated to educating and empowering women and girls to be leaders.
