What can I do if I suspect nursing home abuse or neglect?

View More FAQ Videos

In the event you suspect nursing home abuse or neglect of your loved one, there are several things you should do as quickly as possible. First of all, contact your local ombudsman, and make sure they perform a thorough and quick investigation. Secondly, bring it to the attention of the administrator. Hopefully, they’ll put additional pressure on their staff to avoid any harm. Finally, visit as often as you can, and vary the dates and times when you show up, so they’re not always expecting you.
